Hotline for Vietnamese protection abroad launched

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh (M) inaugurats a hotline to protect Vietnamese citizens and legal entities in foreign countries.

A hotline to protect Vietnamese citizens and their legal entities abroad has been launched at +844.62.844.844. 

Developed by the Foreign Ministry and the military-run Viettel telecom service provider, the round-the-clock hotline is designed to handle over 1,500 calls daily using the latest home-made technology. 

Vietnam already has diplomatic ties with nearly 200 countries and trade ties with almost all of countries and territories worldwide. Over 600,000 Vietnamese are living abroad, including 100,000 students. 

In addition, more than 200,000 Vietnamese women start family in foreign countries while more Vietnamese are opting for overseas travel.
